Cultural Diversity Week
by the Languages Domain
Cultural Diversity Week was a vibrant and highly successful celebration of the rich cultures that make up our school community. Throughout the week, students and staff engaged in a variety of activities organised by the Wellbeing team, the Languages Domain, and the Library, all designed to promote inclusion, curiosity, and respect for different cultural backgrounds.
One of the highlights of the week was the Cultural Dress parade on Friday, where students proudly showcased traditional and culturally significant outfits. It was wonderful to see such enthusiastic participation, with many students sharing the stories and meanings behind their clothing.
Students enjoyed taking part in activities such as the Harmony Day Hunt and contributing to a collaborative artwork. These activities encouraged students to explore different perspectives and reflect on the importance of diversity in our community. The library also provided engaging resources and displays that celebrated cultures from around the world.
A special mention goes to the pretzel fundraiser held on Friday, where $5 pretzels were sold in the Quad to support the Migration Resource Centre. This initiative was warmly received and highlighted our school’s commitment to supporting wider community organisations.
Overall, Cultural Diversity Week was a fantastic success, fostering a strong sense of belonging and appreciation for the diverse backgrounds within our school. Thank you to all staff and students who contributed to making the week so meaningful and memorable.
