Learning and Teaching

As part of our Inquiry unit on Health, Wellbeing and Safety, students have been learning about their personal safety network. This involves identifying trusted adults in their lives who they can go to if they feel unsafe, worried, or need help. The students' safety network consists of 3 to 5 adults they trust. These are the people who, if you told them anything that made you feel worried or unsafe, would listen to you and always believe you.
My network of people will
- Listen to me
- Believe me
- Be available
- Take action to help, if necessary
We encourage parents to continue this conversation at home by asking their child about what they have learned and who they have included in their safety network. This can be a great opportunity to talk together about other trusted adults in their lives who could be part of their network. Your child may also wish to add additional people after discussing this with you. If you would like to extend this activity at home, you can work with your child to create or update their safety network using the attached resource.
Have a wonderful week
