Deputy Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,
This week, students in Years 3 and 5 will participate in the NAPLAN assessments.
NAPLAN is a national assessment that provides a snapshot of student learning in literacy and numeracy across schools in Australia.
It is important to remember that NAPLAN is only one assessment and represents just one moment in time. While we encourage students to try their best, the results are only one part of how we understand and measure student progress. Throughout the year, teachers use a wide range of classroom assessments, observations and learning tasks to gain a much more comprehensive understanding of each child’s learning and achievement.
Our focus is to support students to approach the assessments calmly and with confidence. We encourage them to read each question carefully, take their time and simply do their best. There is no need for students to feel worried or pressured about the tests.
Parents can support their children by encouraging a positive attitude, ensuring they get a good night’s sleep and arriving at school ready for the day.
Thank you for your continued support.
