Science

Year 7 

Students in Year 7 have been investigating the science lab, scientific equipment, laboratory safety and have begun to develop their science inquiry skills in their pendulum experiment. 

Year 8 

Students in Year 8 have been learning about rocks and how they can be categorised based on their properties like hardness. They investigated the real-world applications of this in how the number of minerals in toothpaste change their ability to clean. 

Year 9

Students in Year 9 have been investigating all things space related; how the universe began, the life and death of stars, star stories and technology used in space exploration. In this picture you can see the result of students comparing different space exploration tools. 

Biology 

Students in Year 10 Biology have been learning about cells, their structure and the processes that allow them to function. They are observing this in pracs where they have been observing cells under the microscope. 

In Year 12 Biology we have been learning about how the DNA code is used to make proteins and the different levels of protein structure. We have used hands-on activities to model different aspects of the processes.
