Explore Group Comp

Our Year 10 students have made a fantastic start to the year through the Explore Group Competition, run by their Year Level Leaders. Each week, classes have rotated through a variety of fun and engaging challenges designed to build positive relationships, encourage teamwork, and strengthen connections within their Explore groups.

Students have taken on challenges focusing on communication, teamwork, strategy and collaboration, all while demonstrating the College values of Respect, Citizenship and Challenge. It has been wonderful to see students supporting one another, working together, and embracing the friendly competition. These activities have also provided a valuable opportunity for students to continue building strong relationships with their Explore teachers and classmates.

It has also been fantastic to see Explore teachers enthusiastically getting involved, working alongside their classes and contributing to the positive team spirit within each group. Thank you to Ms Newstead, Ms Robertson, Ms Goh, Mr Pollock, Ms Wu, Mr Qin, Mr Barratt, Mr Ye, Mr Marsh, Mr Bennie and Mr Mooney.

Students have also shared positive feedback about the experience:

I really enjoyed the mini games the teachers organised at the Explore Competition. It was a great break from our usual schoolwork, and I felt like I got closer to classmates I wouldn’t normally speak to. My favourite activity was the one where we had to link hands and pass a hula hoop through each others bodies without letting go. It required teamwork and communication to complete the challenge. Overall, it was a really fun experience, and if I had to choose between regular classwork and another Explore Competition, I would definitely choose the Explore Competition. ~ Blaise

The Explore Group Competition was such a amazing way to bond with our classmates and get to know everyone better! It was a great way to get out of the classroom and have some energetic, competitive fun. One thing I really enjoyed was witnessing everyone's leadership skills coming into play, and seeing everyone communicate so respectfully and so well. ~ Ella

The Explore Group Competition was a fun new way to create a bond and further develop teamwork in our homegroup. The games were creative and required us to think which challenged us to work together. ~ Max

The Explore Group Competition was a great experience for me and my peers, as it really helped our teamwork abilities and it was a really good opportunity to work with people I may not have worked with before. Communication was a large part of this, having to talk to and work with everyone through all the games gave us all a chance to get to know each other and learn how to work as a team without leaving anyone out. ~ Maisie

The Explore activities were very fun and difficult it gave everyone an experience to be able to face challenges and build stronger connections together. This was a great way to get to know more about each other and be able to work all together as a team. ~ Gemma
