Molesworth St Campus
From Kimalee Fernandes and Georgie Murphy, Junior School Science teachers
This week at Molesworth our pet yabby has moulted, shedding his first skin. Because of his beautiful blue claws we have decided to name him ‘Blue’.

Prep
This fortnight in Science Preps have been continuing their discussion on plants, even tasting the different parts of a plant and recording which was their favourite. We have also been setting up some easy plant experiments in the classroom that you can try at home.

Year 1
Students have been investigating the body coverings ‘skin’ and ‘scales’. We talked about the 3 layers of skin, and how some animals have brightly coloured skin to warn others that they are ‘Toxic! Do not eat!’ like poison dart frogs. We have also looked at different scales on different species of fish.

Year 2
Students have been continuing with their wonderful marine animal research. We are seeing some great investigating, sorting and recording of facts.
