Wellbeing

Next week, our school will participate in Bullying No Way Week, Australia's national week of action to prevent bullying. This year's theme,"Small Acts, Big Impact," highlights how simple actions such as showing kindness, including others, and speaking up can make a meaningful difference in creating a positive and respectful school community. Throughout the week, students will participate in a range of classroom lessons, discussions, and wellbeing activities designed to promote respect, empathy, inclusion, and positive relationships. These learning experiences will help students understand bullying behaviour, develop strategies for responding to challenges, and strengthen our culture of kindness and belonging. Families are encouraged to continue these conversations at home and explore the resources available through the Bullying No Way website:
Together, we can create a school community where everyone feels safe, vaued, and respected.
Student Voice: Bus Travel and Student Wellbeing
As part of our ongoing commitment to student wellbeing, we held a Bus Meeting this week with students who travel to and from school by bus. The purpose of the meeting was to provide students with an opportunity to share their experiences and discuss ways to ensure that all students feel safe, respected, and happy while travelling.
The discussion focused on positive behaviour, showing respect to others, and looking out for one another on the journey to and from school. Student voice is an important part of building a safe and inclusive school environment, and we thank our students for their thoughtful contributions.
We will continue to work closely with students, families, and transport providers to promote a positive and safe bus travel experience for everyone.
Attendance Matters: Every Day Counts
Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors influencing a student's learning, wellbeing, and long-term success. Students who attend school consistently are more likely to achieve academically, maintain positive friendships, and feel connected to their school community.
Even small amounts of missed school can add up over time. Missing just one day per fortnight can result in a significant loss of learning across the school year.
Families can support positive attendance by:
- Establishing consistent morning routines.
- Ensuring students arrive at school on time.
- Scheduling appointments outside school hours where possible.
- Communicating with the school regarding absences.
- Seeking support if there are barriers affecting attendance.
- Every day at school provides valuable opportunities for learning, friendship, growth, and success.
Wellbeing Reminder
If you have any concerns regarding your child's wellbeing, friendships, engagement, or attendance, please reach out to your child's classroom teacher or a member of the Wellbeing Team. By working together, we can continue to ensure that every student feels safe, supported, connected, and ready to learn.
🛡️ Child Safe Standards Spotlight Week 4
Standard 6: Suitable Staff and Volunteers
We are committed to ensuring that all staff and volunteers are appropriately screened, recruited and supported to uphold child safety. Child-safe practices are an important part of our employment and volunteer processes.
Standard 7: Child-Focused Complaints Processes
Children, families, staff and volunteers should feel confident raising concerns. We promote clear, accessible and child-friendly processes for reporting concerns and ensure all complaints are taken seriously and responded to appropriately.
