Cyber Safety & Wellbeing

Hello and Welcome to your e-safety corner of the Newsletter for 2026. #2

Do you go to the gym and get someone else to lift the weights?

AI is becoming an increasingly large part of everything digital. It’s an old idea but the mainstream use of generative AI to make things like a human would is only from around 2022. This is the worst the technology is ever going to be. We are all driving Model-T Chatgpt!

Years 3-6 have been learning about AI basics and what it is and how it works. We use the quote at the start as a way of discouraging reliance..

As we know our students and their capabilities very well It is very easy to spot a primary aged child using AI.

Generative AI is currently not available at school for students but one can envisage the day when it is. South Australian public high schools are implementing EdChat, a secure, custom AI chatbot developed with Microsoft, to help students improve academic results, brainstorm, and understand complex topics.
