Visual Art

After a great start to the year we are finishing up the term in Visual art with some fun exploration of different mediums and materials.

Students in years 3-6 have finished up their LPS Mascot art project and are now on display in the atrium for everyone to view. They all put in hard work and attention to detail to their artwork and look fantastic on display. Now the senior students are exploring a range of different materials to create a flower which will be used in a larger display next term (more details to come). Students will continue to work on these through weeks 9 and 10 but some of the results are already looking incredible. They have used materials such as; paint, glitter, markers, tissue paper, coloured paper, feathers and much more!

The junior end have also finished up learning and exploring the LPS mascots and have spent the last week collaging a flower using tissue paper. This has been a new skill for most of the Prep – 2 students and they have all demonstrated resilience and determination when tackling the challenge of learning something new. To finish up we will consolidating our understanding of colour with a warm/cool drawing.

The Art Room has been a space of fun and creativity this term and I am excited to continue our creating and learning next Term. Have a wonderful break!
