From the Year Prep Classroom

Wow - Term 1 has been amazing, and it is hard to believe we are already at the end of our first term together! We’re really proud of how much the kids have grown already. They have become settled and confident in the school environment, are familiar with daily routines, and have already learnt so much.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support, trust, and engagement throughout this term. Education is a partnership between home and school, and we truly feel that together we have set your children up for a very successful first year of school.
Easter Bunny Activities with our Buddies - Such a fun way to wrap up the term! On Tuesday afternoon, we had a great time with our Year 6 buddies decorating biscuits, doing some Easter colouring, and sharing a few Easter stories together.
Readers In Term 2, students will begin bringing home take-home readers, an exciting next step in their learning journey. As with this term, students will bring their reader satchels to school on Fridays, which is when books will be changed. Each week, they will take home 2–3 readers to keep for the week. This allows students to practise decoding words, build confidence, and develop greater fluency (smooth reading). This, in turn, supports their comprehension (understanding) of the text.
Library Books Please ensure all library books are returned to school by this Thursday 2nd of April, so Mrs Boyer can complete a stocktake, carry out any necessary repairs, and organise new resources.
Student-Free Day Please note that Monday 20th April is a student-free day.
We look forward to welcoming the children back, well-rested, on Tuesday 21st April.
From all of us here in Prep, we wish you all a safe, fun, and restful Easter! We hope you enjoy spending time doing something you love with family and friends and that the Easter Bunny finds you all!
