Wellbeing News:
It has been a positive and productive term across the school, with a strong focus on supporting students’ social and emotional development.
Throughout the term, classes have been engaging in the Respectful Relationships curriculum, with a particular focus on Emotional Literacy. Students have been learning to recognise, understand and express their emotions, as well as develop strategies to manage challenges both in and out of the classroom.
We have also introduced a range of wellbeing check-in strategies, particularly in the junior years, to support students in identifying how they are feeling and seeking support when needed. These consistent routines are helping to build self-awareness and strengthen connections between students and staff.
In addition, a number of targeted small group programs have been running across the school, including Chill Skills, which focuses on emotional regulation and calming strategies. These groups support students in developing important social skills such as cooperation, communication, teamwork and building positive friendships. It has been fantastic to see students engaging positively and growing in confidence.
Looking ahead to next term, we are excited to introduce the Boys to the Bush program, providing valuable opportunities for students to build resilience, connection and life skills. We will also be running a Build and Grow group, where students will work collaboratively on hands-on projects while developing teamwork, responsibility and a sense of achievement. A highlight of this group will be a Bunnings visit where we will look at purchasing some garden beds.
As always, we remain committed to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment where all students feel known, valued and respected.
A big thank you to all of our staff but especially Mrs Ramsdale for her support and care that she demonstrated to the students each and every day!
