Learning to Shine!

 Our Students Discover the Glockenspiel

In the last couple of weeks students from Year 1 through to Year 6 have been busy exploring the world of music through our school glockenspiels. Across all year levels, students have been growing their ability to read, interpret, and play music, building both confidence and musical skill.

Our younger students have been learning about basic graphic notation, which is how symbols and shapes can represent sound. We have been beginning to recognise patterns, pitch, and rhythm, using these skills to play simple melodies independently and in class groups.

Classes have enjoyed exploring a wide range of music, from familiar nursery rhymes to popular classical pieces, giving students the chance to connect with music from different times and styles.

It has been wonderful to see students listening carefully, working cooperatively, and taking pride in their musical achievements as they continue to grow as confident young musicians.

Next term, our Performing Arts program will be changing gears, and we will be exploring the exciting world of dance!

It has been a fabulous first term of Performing Arts and I wish all our beautiful school community a safe and happy Easter break!

Singing, dancing and signing off!
