Sports News

This first term has been packed full of students’ involvement in sports, with upwards of 90 students going out this term to participate in Volleyball, Tennis and Swimming. During these events teams have been competitive winning against some of our small school rivals like Boronia, Fairhills and Bayswater.

Students have also shown great determination and resilience at events where they did go up against Schools like Rowville, Wantirna and Upway. Feedback received from teachers going out is that teams are shown great teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

We have also had some great individual performances with one standout in Liam Schulz. Liam went out on swimming and managed to Score more points than some of our neighbouring schools combined. He was in the top 20 overall and 3rd in his age group.

We have had many other great performances with teams making it to Semi-finals and barely missing out.

All in all, it has been a great start of the year, and I would like to thank all students, teachers and Parents that have supported the Sports program this Term.

This has been one of the new subjects on offer to our Year 9-10 students this year.

Our First term of work related to identifying the features and uses of our coastal environments. Students participated in two excursions too Phillip Island and St. Kilda.

Visting these areas and discussing how we have humans impacted the environment through participating in recreation and the importance of conservation efforts in these coastal environments.

Each excursion students participated in a well-run recreational activity, surfing at Smiths beach and paddle-boarding at St. Kilda beach.
