Careers update
As the year comes to a close, many of our Year 12 students are finalising their University preference lists in anticipation of first round of offers on December 21. Many of our students have been producing work for selection tasks, taking part in interviews and applying for scholarships as part of this process. It is very important for students to remember that there are a range of very good pathway programs to University courses, so regardless of the outcome of their results, there will be a way to get to their end goal.
Support for Year 12 students during University Offers Process
A reminder to our Year 12 students that I will be available to support them in the Offers process. This will include being available during the Change of Preference period at school during the following times:
- 12 December 2022: 9am-3pm
- 13 December 2022: 9am-12 noon
If students have questions regarding their actual offers, I can be contacted via email to provide assistance.
- All Universities will be running ‘Change of Preference’ events where students are able to contact or visit Universities to get more information on courses and requirements to assist them in changing their University preferences.
University and College Events running in the School Holidays
- Monash University is running some engineering events in the January school holidays for students in Year 10-12. For more details and to register please visit here.
- Collarts are offering Victorian High School students going into years 10, 11 and 12 in 2023, and those that finished year 12 in 2022, to participate in a series of practical, hands-on workshops! You can go and participate in a series of practical and hands on workshops in areas like audio engineering, acting, comedy, fashion styling, photography, animation and music production. - Whitehouse Institute of Design is offering a range of summer workshops in the areas of sewing, illustration and portfolio development. You can find out more and register here.
- ACMI is running a creative and hands-on filmmaking workshop for 9-13 year olds on 9 and 10 January 2023. More details and registration can be found here.
