Performing Arts update

The end of the year is fast approaching, and what a year it’s been; concerts, VSMF, Lion King, Little Women, just to name a few. I would like to congratulate all the students that have been involved in our Performing Arts events. It’s always a balancing act getting to rehearsals on time, practicing at home amongst everything else. I would also like to thank the parents, especially for getting your daughter to school either early in the morning, picking them up late in the afternoon, as well as attending the numerous concerts throughout the year. Your support and encouragement of your daughters at home has been, all will always be greatly appreciated.

By the time this article will have been sent out, quite possibly the biggest night in the Shelford calendar will have happened. Presentation Evening is both a celebration of the achievements of our students, as well as an opportunity for them to perform in a world class venue. I would like to thank wholeheartedly all of our performers, I am so proud of all of the students from our very youngest through to our departing Year 12’s for their hard work and commitment in to the groups they have been a part of.

I would also like to thank the entire Performing Arts department for their hard work across the year. In what has been the busiest year in some time, your commitment and passion to our students has been greatly appreciated.

Some of you may be aware, Ms Judith Moore is retiring at the end of the year. Ms Moore has been teaching piano at Shelford for over 40 years, her caring nature and warm smile will be greatly missed. We wish Ms Moore all the very best for her adventures next year.

Ms Sherri Sibly will also be finishing at Shelford at the end of the year. Ms Sibly has been teaching violin and viola for 4 years, as well as running our Senior String Quartet this year. We wish Ms Sibly all the best for the future.
