ICCES Swimming
On Tuesday the 2nd , myself and about 35 other students headed down to Melbourne to compete in ICCES swimming carnival. Starting the day off well the team was fired up and ready for the day's events, beginning with Medley Relays. Throughout the day students were cheering on their mates and showing some amazing school spirit despite the cold weather. A huge congratulations to our ICCES age champions this year and to all who gave up their time to swim. We represented Girton well in Melbourne. Thank you to Ms Paul, Mr Whitsed, Mrs Tunzi, Mrs Boswell and Ms Speed for making the carnival possible.

Sandhurst Swimming
Wednesday the 10th March saw our swimmers off again but this time to Sandhurst Swimming Carnival, hosted by Girton and held at the Faith Leech Aquatic Centre.
The day was filled with back to back events with Girton smashing out every race and swimmers doing their best. Breaking a few records and enjoying their time the swimmers did fantastically well. The Teachers and I could not be prouder of the way the students conducted themselves. Coming away with two age champions and Girton winning overall champions of the carnival, the swimmers had a successful day as a team.
Congratulations to everyone who swam, and thank you to the organisers of the event as well as parents and teachers who attended and supported the students throughout the day. A special mention to Ms Paul, Mr Whitsed, Mrs Tunzi, Mr McMillan and Ms Speed for assisting on the day. Sixteen students have now qualified for the Loddon Mallee Regional finals in Swan Hill.

Loddon Mallee Regional Swimming Final
All 16 students brought home a 1st placed medallion and all students finished in the top 3 for all events in the LMR Swimming Final.
Each student has now qualified for the School Sports Victoria State competition next term.
A special mention to Hunter Boswell (9 Jenkin), who won 6 out of 7 races and was awarded the Arthur Swan Medal overall champion competitor for the day.
