Kayaking

Girton students, Govind Gopal, Henry Livingstone, Sam Wardrop and Finn Worthington Brown participated in the 2021 Victorian Schools Canoeing Championships for Marathon and Sprint paddling,  held at Nagambie Lakes Regatta Centre on Sunday, 14th March 2021.

The whole team paddled well to win the Prestigious Doak Family  Marathon award for the morning races.

Great paddling was on display over the 2.2 or 3.3 km races with Le-mans starts and portages. 

For the athletes, for their first race experience, (k1, k2, k4) , the timing,  boat run, coordination and team spirit was impressive.​

The afternoon consisted of 200m sprints, but unfortunately strong headwinds caused racing to be cancelled before the finals commenced.

U16 TK1: Finn Whithington-Brown (10 Aherne) - Silver

Doubles

U16 TK2: Finn Withington-Brown (10 Aherne) - Silver

U16 TK2: Govind Gopal (11 Frew) - Silver
