TEAMS REACH OCTOFINALS

Throughout the last couple of terms, students in Years 7-12 have spent their Tuesday evenings representing the College at the Western Australian Debating League (WADL) Schools Debating Competition.

Last Tuesday, our Year 8 and 9 Debating teams participated in the Octofinals. Qualifying for the Octofinals meant placing in the Top 8 out of 120 teams for the Year 8s and 90 teams for the Year 9s!

Whilst the Year 8s and 9s didn't qualify for the next round, they learnt so much about a variety of topics and did the College proud.

Well done to Christina Edwards (Year 8 Carden), Maria Nasr (Year 8 Thu Duc), Tessa Macdonald (Year 8 Thu Duc), Jalyn Klijn-Francesconi (Year 8 Thu Duc), Neave Norman (Year 8 Hannan), Savannah Lauri (Year 8), Charlotte Selth (Year 9 Carden), Emily Logan (Year 9 Carden) and Eliza Boylen (Year 9 Hannan) and all of our other fabulous debaters. Thank you also to our two fabulous coaches - Ms Jones for the Year 8s and Ms Dias for the Year 9s.
