TOURNAMENT OF MINDS (TOM)

One of the biggest events on Sacred Heart's academic calendar is Tournament of Minds (TOM).

For the last six weeks, 84 community members have worked after school and on Sundays in preparation for this weekend's competition, including:

• Sixty-three students in Years 7-10
• Seven Year 11 student facilitators: Kayah Swiatopelk-Mirski-Smith (Trinity), Josie Hicks (Trinity), Julia Buswell (Barlow), Sam Simpson (Hannan), Bella Fogarty (Carden), Jacinta Gibson (Carden) and Siobhan Quinn (2023 Head Girl/Trinity) 
• Twelve staff: Mrs Jenny Baker, Miss Sophie Brouwer, Ms Loretta De Conti, Mrs Marcella Guerrero, Mr Julien Hunt, Mrs Sharmaine Lee-Fong, Mrs Siobhan Leonard, Miss Emma Pitt, Mr Aaron Richards, Mrs Sam Thompson and me (Mrs Tanya Atherton)
• Two Alumni: Jason Ducie (Class of 2017) and Jack Ducie (Class of 2020)

Best of luck to all nine of our teams. You are already winners in my eyes as you have worked hard on so many skills required by employers: teamwork, problem-solving, communication, creative and critical thinking, time management and commitment. Congratulations on getting involved and, regardless of the outcome, I hope you have a lot of fun on the day. Many of us will be there on Saturday to offer our support.

The event will take place at Edith Cowan University. Teams will meet their facilitators outside Building 32 (north end) for registration at least 30 minutes before their first event on the day. Below is a reminder for teams involved.
