Junior Soiree 2023
On Wednesday 2nd August we held our Junior Soiree Concert after school in the Stadium. This gave our younger students in Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2 the opportunity to perform for an audience. We also had our Junior Choir perform (Yr1-Yr3). The Yr6 Music Leaders, Isabelle and Nathan, helped to host the event and select the winners of our Best Solo Awards. One student was selected from each year level, and the winners were Matthew Ma 0DW, Cayla Zhang 1HT and Matthew Wang 2SB. We also decided that one of the duet performances from Ethan Pan 2BM and Alice Duan 2NF was so good that they deserved an award too. We will be ordering more medals and presenting them to Ethan and Alice at the next Junior Assembly. Thank-you to all the students, parents and people from the community that showed up to support the students performing.

Digi Tech - Coding Club
Every Monday lunchtime, the Digi Tech lab is open to students in Years 3-6 to work on their own coding problems. Mrs Hall and Mr Sadler are there to work with and guide the students, but it is the student themselves who select the platform and problem they would like to work on. Any Year 3-6 student may come to this free club and there is no need to register.
There are a variety of sites/programs the students can use - Scratch, Blockly, Micro:bits and Purple Mash to name a few. Our coders share ideas and help each other to find solutions and to fix 'bugs'. Recently a number of our Year 5/6 students have signed up to participate in an online coding challenge using either Blockly (block-based program) or Python (written code). A number have already completed the first week's challenges successfully and are up on the leader board!
