Latest News and Reminders

Last week we welcomed prospective families to the College for our inaugural Twilight Opening. It was extremely well attended, with the rainy weather deciding to hold off - amazingly.

I would like to acknowledge the many, many students who assisted as tour guides, musicians, scientists, cooks, faculty representatives and artists. So many parents commented positively on the girls, which was wonderful to hear. They are always such terrific ambassadors of the school.

As Term 1 draws to a close I would like to remind students and parents that we now have a uniform policy that allows girls to wear their summer or winter uniform at any time of the year. Girls cannot wear a combination of the uniforms but can wear the summer one in Term 2 if they wish to.

The Easter Raffle this year raised urgent funds for our 2021 charities, over $1000. Thanks to the College community for your support of this first fundraiser we have undertaken in over a year. Our charities will be delighted.

The winners were Stacey McNamara, Geraldine Nunn, Briana Mendez, Liz (Yr 11), Syriana Pentong, Anna Nguyen, Taylor Robinson, Hailey Xavier, Lauren Trang, Jacqui Dunstan, Vesna Ristevski, Angelie Almodiel, Aliki Cotton, Ralph Wellington, Taylor Owens.

Day 1 for Term 2 for students and staff is Monday 19th April. The Athletics Carnival is on Friday 30th April. For 2021, we will not be permitting parents, grandparents etc to attend but hope to be back to normal in 2022.

There is no public holiday for ANZAC Day this year, as it falls on a Sunday. We will have our annual service on Friday 23rd April.

Best wishes for the holiday and Easter period. See you all again on 19th April.

Year 7 Parents Morning Tea

The Year 7 parents are warmly invited to our Year 7 Parent Morning Tea to be held on Wednesday 5th May  from 9.15am to 11am. The venue will be in the Tullow Building. Parents will have the opportunity to meet our senior school leaders and share their daughter's experiences at Killester, also enabling them to meet other Killester parents. Parents will be able to tour the Year 7 Helen Toohey building and see their daughters working in their classes. A letter will be sent to parents and will also include whether parents require interpreters during the morning. We welcome the opportunity to meet our parents and look forward to seeing you there.
