Greater Dandenong Libraries Update

Notice of works at Springvale Community Hub – 29-31 March

Sections of the Springvale Community Hub, in particular some of the library areas, will be closed from Monday 29 March to Wednesday 31 March to enable works to be undertaken.

These works are likely to cause significant noise and dust that would impact on the community. Therefore, the closure will include a majority of the downstairs library section and Level 1 sections of the library. 

The following services will still be on offer to the community:

• Collecting holds / transfers from other libraries
• Returning books
• Library programs will be relocated to Community Rooms or Exhibition Hall
• Newspapers will be available in other lounge areas
• Study will be available within Community Lounge / Exhibition Hall areas
• Council Customer Service will still be open
• Access to Meeting Rooms and Community Rooms will still be available
• Hours of access to the hub and limited library services will remain the same at 9am to 9pm Monday to Wednesday.

Autumn events and school holiday activities

The Libraries are offering a range of autumn events and school holiday activities. Registrations are required for most events. 

Easter Opening Hours                

Friday 2 April: Closed (Good Friday)    

Saturday 3 April: 10am-5pm (Easter Saturday)

Sunday 4 April: 2pm-5pm (Easter Sunday)          

Monday 5 April: 2pm-5pm (Easter Monday)

Sunday 25 April: 2pm-5pm (ANZAC Day)

Youth Media Program

We are excited to announce that we have a youth media program running in term 2! A taster version of this program will be happening on 9 April on a Friday.  It will give young people the opportunity to connect with other young people to create digital content for the council. Participants will be able to discuss and create content on issues that matter to them, that impact their aspirations and affect their daily lives.

Participants will have the ability to utilise a wide range of mediums including: videography, graphic design, music, spoken word, records, and social media content.

Young people will be supported and is highly recommended to young people who enjoy journalism, creativity and arts.
