Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn

We have been celebrating dishes from around the world in the kitchen over the last couple of weeks. Using a variety of fragrant herbs and spices, including curry leaves, lemongrass, cumin, turmeric and garam masala.

 

Students prepared a vegetable and chickpea curry served with roti, which they colourfully garnished with flowers and herbs from the garden. We are also making Vietnamese rice paper rolls and were lucky to be given a demonstration from Louis and Chloe from 4D, who shared their families tips for the perfect rolling technique. 

 

Both dishes have required careful slicing and dicing and we have seen great concentration and progress in the development of everyone's safe knife skills. We are looking forward to presenting our knife licenses at the end of term.
