SUCCESS STORIES

TANISH SINGH – BATTING FOR THE TEAM

Tanish Singh of Year 7 continues to prove himself outstanding in the field of cricket, having recently been selected to join the School Sport Victoria U12 Cricket Team.

Tanish competed in three separate trials at the Oakleigh Indoor Centre, the MCG and later in Bendigo, to be finally selected from a highly competitive contingent of almost 500 hopefuls. In Tanish’s words

“Most kids who made it to the final rounds have skills and technique, but you need to trust your training and hard work and be mentally tough”.

Tanish will go on to compete in the National Championships being held in Shepparton this November against teams from six other Australian States and Territories.

After captaining the U12 South Eastern Cricket Association side to premiership this year and also captaining our own Year 7 McKinnon team, Tanish is certainly having a successful season.

We look forward to hearing about the outcome of this next challenge and all his future sporting achievements.

YONATAN AYZELMAN – YOU’VE DONE IT AGAIN!

Recently we were proud to announce Yonatan Ayzelman of Year 9 had reached gold standard in the Judo Victoria, July Competition.

Well, he’s back, with another gold medal, this time from the August Tournament. Yonatan competed brilliantly, winning the Cadet U59.7kg division.

Here he is being presented with his medal by the Birmingham Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalist, Liam Park.

Currently Yonatan is training hard with the Australian Team for an important Under 18 competition in Bremen, Germany, in October.

Congratulations once again Yonatan. We are watching with interest.
