STATE NETBALL

Senior Girls Netball

On Tuesday 30 August the Senior Girls Netball Squad competed at the All Schools State Netball Finals at the State Netball Centre in Parkville.

It was a tough day as the team came up against the best schools in the state. We were only one of two public schools who qualified to compete. The girls played some admirable Netball and came 4th in their group.

The team also got to meet some of their heroes on the day, Australian Diamonds stars Caitlin Thwaites and Tegan Philps. Well done to the squad on some exceptional Netball this year.

YEAR 8 SOCCER RUNNERS-UP STATE

On Tuesday 6 September the Year 8 Girls Soccer team set off to Darebin International Sports center and fought for the state title.

Our first game was against Ballarat High School, where we challenged ourselves and the opposition and came through with a win of 6-0. We continued this winning streak, winning our second match against Chairo Christian school, 3-0. Going into our final game of the pool, we needed a win or draw to send us through to the State Finals. It was a tough game but we persevered and managed to maintain a 0-0 draw sending us into the finals.

In the Grand Final, we were up against Maribyrnong College where we fought extremely hard but unfortunately lost 6-0, coming home with the second.

A tremendous effort from the girls.
