PERFORMING ARTS

As we race towards the end of the year, we are increasing the number of performances that have been occurring throughout the school. There have been so many pop-up performances by instrumental students, and there are more to come!

GIGS ON THE GREEN

In the next few weeks all junior and intermediate ensembles will be performing either in the school yard as part of the Gigs on the Green concert series, or in a small concert on Thursday 2 December. Whilst we would have wanted parents to be able to see the kids performing, we are so excited about the fact that we are performing to live audiences.

On Tuesday 23 November it was wonderful to see and hear the fantastic sounds of WonderBrass, a brass based ensemble of students from Year 10 and above, performing a short concert on the A01 stage.

We are looking forward to Friday 26 November, when “Karen took the Kids” will be performing on the A01 stage.

Thank you to all the students and staff who have made this concert season possible.

IN CLASS PERFORMANCES

Throughout the entire Performing Arts learning area students are finalising their end of year performances, some are live to class and some are pre recorded.  Whichever format these performances have taken, it is wonderful to see and hear the development that students have shown throughout the year despite the difficulties presented. Students should be incredibly proud of the resilience that they have demonstrated.

HIRE INSTRUMENT RETURN AND HOLIDAY HIRE

All students who have hired a school instrument for 2021 will need to return these by Friday 3 December so that maintenance can take place. Students who are wishing to hire their instruments over the holiday period should talk to their instrumental teacher about this. These instruments will be available from Tuesday 14 December.

CHICAGO!

After getting so close to performing in Term 3, we are extremely excited about the fact that we are going to be able to finally perform this to family on December 9 - 11. It will be a busy week from Monday 7 December as we rehearse and prepare for opening night!
