Congratulations to our Class of 2021 on their Graduation from the College. A wonderful Valedictory/Graduation Assembly was held last week to acknowledge and celebrate the milestone achieved by each and every individual.

It was indeed a highlight of the year. A wonderful way to come together at school on the formal stage to acknowledge each student. It really was a wonderful moment.

We have had shared truly magical moments over the last few weeks that have brought absolute joy back to our school despite the adversity of covid.

I wish them every success for their future pursuits.

I thank the many parents who joined (via livestream) to see these wonderful young adults be presented with their certificates.

Congratulations to Emily Chang (Year 10C) and Victoria Polites (Year 10J) who have been selected for The Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program offered by Melbourne University’s Class of 2023. Emily and Victoria have been selected from over 1500 applicants across the State and have not only been chosen for their strong academic success but also their qualities in leadership, engagement and involvement within the school and broader community. Emily and Clare are exceptional students and we wish them all the best as they embark on this exciting academic enrichment program.

After a three month delay, the 2021 McK Chess Championship finally came to a successful end when the beeps of the chess clock signalled the conclusion of the tightly fought contest between the eventual winner Anthony Duong (Year 10D) and runner-up Gregory Wen (Year 10M) in this year’s championship final. The match was decided by blitz tiebreak after both players won one standard game each with the white pieces in the first two days of competition.

Congratulations to the following Top 4 students:

2021 Champion   Anthony Duong (Year 10D)

Runner-Up    Gregory Wen (Year 10M)

3rd Place       Timothy Nicolaides (Year 9G)

4th Place       Aryan Jayanty (Year 10F)

Winner medals, prizes and certificates were presented at a short ceremony on Thursday 18 November.

How hilarious it has been to see our students managing these robotic babies. Sleepless nights, struggling to know what's upset the children, all of it building resilience, understanding and tremendous learning. I hope it’s also a deterrent to early pregnancy.

I would like to acknowledge and thank Campion Education and in particular Jim Bonikos for their ongoing support and their supply of educational resources for our school. It is a large undertaking each year and I thank them for making the process as smooth as possible. They always look after a few families in need and this generosity and kindness does not go unnoticed.
