Principal's Report 

A warm welcome students, families and friends to Term 3 at St Joseph's College.

This week we have started our school-wide consultation process for our new strategic plan.  Our strategic plan will provide guidelines for College improvement over the next four years. It would be great to have as much feedback as possible, so if you are interested in meeting with our consultant or sending your improvement suggestions through, please email my PA Maree McNamara on mmcnamara@sje.vic.edu.au

Our students and staff will meet with our consultant during Term 3. We are expecting the process of consultation to run for the whole of the term and into Term 4, with a view that we will have a draft by mid-Term 4 and an exciting launch in Term 1, 2023.

This week has been a week of spiritual renewal for our staff with a series of guest presenters every day after school, culminating in our Spirituality Day today (Thursday).  This is a really important opportunity for our staff, but it also provides an opportunity for students to be offsite studying or completing work. Whilst I accept the timing of this day and our parent teacher interviews next Tuesday (26 July) may be challenging for some families, it is quite fortuitous for the College given the current COVID situation and the immense pressure on staffing across education. This may alleviate the need for us to introduce rolling student free days, which has been implemented in many schools across the region. As per the recent announcements, we are encouraging staff and students to wear masks whilst indoors for at least the next few weeks.
