Vinnies Winter Appeal

Do you have pre-loved clothing in good quality condition taking up space in your wardrobe?

By donating to our Vinnies Winter Appeal your clothes will get a new life, support many Australians doing it tough and reduce landfill and the impact on the environment. It’s easy to donate – just drop off your clothing to the Second Hand Uniform Shop at the College Reception from now until Tuesday 13 July. You can even bring your items in during the second week of the holidays too, so now is a great time to go through your wardrobe!

If every student and staff member brings in just one item we can donate over 1,000 items of clothing to Vinnies!

Sustainability

The Sustainability Team once again ran the World Environment Day Photo Competition, with many excellent entries this year. The quality of the pictures and the interesting perspectives on the environment around us were inspirational.

Thank you to everyone who entered.

Our vegie patch continues to thrive, with rhubarb, herbs, lettuce, broad beans and snow peas all growing well. We have more seedlings to plant out this week and the Garden Club is doing a great job at maintaining the vegetables despite lockdowns! Students and staff are welcome to the produce in the garden – if you need some herbs, collect some from the patch instead of paying $3 at the supermarket! We are currently developing plans to expand and improve the vegie patch.

From next term, we will be introducing 'Nude Food Wednesdays' and will be encouraging all students to think about bringing no rubbish to school with their lunches. Watch out for tips for packing 'nude' lunches and rewards for students who take up the challenge.
