Sport

During the year students compete against their classmates at our in-house Swimming and Athletics Carnivals and the Cross Country.

The winners of these events go on to compete at Yarra District level.

This is where the local high schools all meet up to compete against each other. If you and/or your team wins at this level, you progress through to Eastern Metropolitan Region, and then eventually State Championships.

Recently six students attended the EMR Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to the following students; Will Burley, Aemelia Stevenson, Matty Windsall-Holland, Connor Jewell, Paisley Stock and Belle Watson. *Special mention to Belle for receiving a bronze medal in her discus event.

The same format is used for team sports, starting at Yarra District level, and whilst we are waiting for a new date for our Year 8 hockey team to play off at EMR level, we did send a team of Year 8 boys to EMR table tennis. Unfortunately, they did not win, but had a fun day.

Editor's note- Sport has almost wrapped up for the year. With this in mind, now is the perfect time to thank Kerry for her coordination of this program and creating opportunities for students. Thank you, also, to the many staff who have attended sport events this year.
