As the Year 10 cohort missed out on their Year 9 Social last year, the college elected to stage a social event for them in 2022. These events are an important part of student life, allowing students to mix and mingle, fraternise with staff and to enjoy the social side of life!

Held in the BSC Theatre at the beginning of December, around 100 of the Year 10 students came together to socialise and dance, determined to have a great time. The Social Committee (Steph Barwick, Rosie Giuliano Abbi Kelly, Tia MacKinnon, Mytro Melliou and Anushka Sharma) worked together to plan and organise the event. They gathered quotes for DJ entertainment, supply of a Photo Booth and catering for the evening, selected thier suppliers, and also helped with decorations and setting up the space fit for the party-goers. The team did a fabulous job and should be proud of their effort!

On the night we had Sujay spinning great tracks which encouraged everybody out on to the dance floor. Declan Styant-Browne and Mr Mitchell had some great dance moves which really gathered a crowd! Daisy’s Photo Booth saw a lot of action, with students dressing up (and hamming it up!) for the camera, with students printing out their photos so that they could take a memento away from the Social.

The Year 10 Social provided a fabulous opportunity for this cohort to celebrate reaching the end of their Middle School experience. Seeing them enjoy the evening so much - dancing, singing and laughing and enjoying each others company outside of the classroom, was a lot of fun. Best of all, they have made more fun memories that they can look back on in the future. As they look forward to the serious business of VCE next year, we wish them every success as they progress into Senior School.
