Year 9 City Experience

What a great time the Year 9s had on City Experience last week! The students were able to visit the MCG, the Aquarium, the Shrine of Remembrance, and many other places during the week.
City experience is a great opportunity for the students to learn their way around using maps and guidance as well as adhering to check in times.
The year 9 cohort showed excellent communication skills as many would update staff with their whereabouts prior to the allotted check in times. Additionally, the students reported that they enjoyed the activities and the photo challenge.
Some students even took part in a dance challenge outside Federation Square as there is always something interesting happening in the city!
City experience overall was one of the most fun school experiences ever. The freedom you get being able you get being able to walk around the city with your friends and do fun activities around the city is amazing. We got to explore ACMI, Collins Street, The Melbourne Museum. I recommend choosing the sport option so you can do things like a tour of the MCG and going to the Eureka Skydeck. You can try heaps of different types of foods as there are many different restaurants.

I really enjoyed city experience. I was in the art and theatre group along with many of my friends. We did loads of engaging activities and tours to do with art like the street art tour and watching a movie at the famous Nova Cinema on Lygon Street. We also learned a lot about the history of Melbourne and other important places like the Shrine of Remembrance. I had fun exploring and learning how to navigate public transport with my group (making mistakes along the way!). As someone who has never really been to the city, it was a really great learning opportunity and I had loads of fun along the way!

City experience: was a really enjoyable experience to do. Everything from getting the train into the city to roaming around to the different places you wouldn't normally go to. I liked the idea of the themes and how you got to choose what to do. I couldn't recommend the experience more! You'll enjoy the food too!

Year 9 Sport had the highs and the lows during the week of City Experience can you see any disappointment in these three photos. What a great experience for the students who were super tired by the middle of the week and still managed to enjoy all that the CBD had to offer.
