Professional Practice Day

ILA’s Numeracy Session

While our students had a day to relax on Thursday 1 Sept, the staff were very busy becoming upskilled in many areas. The ILAs (Inclusive Learning Assistants) undertook a professional development session where they had tasters in the topics of: 

• Role in the classroom
• The curriculum
• Developmental Rubrics 
• Process vs conceptual teaching 
• Newman’s analysis 

There were vigorous discussions and an opportunity to trial some resources. The photo shows the completion of a TARSIA activity on squares and square roots.
