SEQTA – Co-Curricular

Winter Co-Curricular training and games have now commenced. First XVIII Football

The First XVIII Football team's season commenced on Tuesday 8 May where they played Trinity College at Trinity under lights. It was a tough match against strong opposition.

 

Congratulations to the students who debuted in the First XVIII Football team – Jude Band, Kyle Budd, Philip Clark, Elexander Day, Sebastian Deluca, Lachlan Fowler, Cooper O’Neill, Cooper O’Leary, Ben Richmond, Lewis Saint and Xavier Preece.

Blackfriars 2.3 (15) defeated by Trinity 23.13 (151)

Goals: 1 D. Hilder, 1 S. Kromwyk.

The First XVIII Football team will take on Marryatville High School on Saturday 12 May at Prospect Oval.

First XI Soccer

The Twilight Soccer League competition is played on Wednesdays with kick-off at 4.15pm and hosted at Adelaide Comets Soccer Pitches, West Terrace. The competition was established in 2011 with Blackfriars winning the title in 2011, 2015 and runner up in 2017. Round 1 of the Twilight Soccer League commenced on  9 May. Blackfriars played Prince Alfred College, resulting in a one all draw. Alexander Muscat was Blackfriars' 'Man of the Match'. Catholic Secondary Schools Academy Cup

On Wednesday 11 April, Blackfriars Priory School competed against Nazareth Catholic College and Cardijn College in the Catholic Secondary Schools Academy Cup. This is an annual event between each school where a selected squad of Year 8 and Year 9 students from each School's Soccer Academy compete and showcase their Soccer talents. Blackfriars finished runner’s up.

 

Game 1

Blackfriars defeated by Nazareth 2 – 1 AET.

Goal: Hieu Nguyen.

Man of the Match: Hieu Nguyen.

 

Game 2

Blackfriars drew Cardijn College 2 – 2.

Goals: Hieu Nguyen, Christian D’Argenio.

Man of the Match: Hieu Nguyen.

 

Student Achievements

Congratulations to Isaiah Lee (Year 8) for his selection in the 2018 Australian Junior Table Tennis Squad. He will be competing in multiple International Table Tennis Events held in the Cook Islands – ITTF Oceania Elevate Performance Camp, ITTF Oceania Junior Championships and ITTF World Junior Championships.
