Congratulations to all the 'CAT' Competition winners, including Justin Ngu (left) and Youngmo (Silas) Koo

Computational and Algorithmic Thinking (CAT) Competition

The ‘CAT’ Competition recognises students who show potential for programming in the logic style problems it presents.

34 students took part in this competition last term, spanning across Years 5 to 12 and I congratulate all students for having a go at this very challenging competition.

I would like to acknowledge the amazing efforts of Hugh Caton in Year 5 for achieving a perfect score in this test; a feat achieved by only one student in Year 5 across Australia in 2017; a truly outstanding achievement. Additionally, we would like to specifically congratulate Matthew Jones (Year 6), Isaac Jacobs (Year 7), Youngmo (Silas) Koo (Year 11) and Justin Ngu (Year 12) who all achieved Distinctions. We would also like to congratulate the following 11 boys who gained Credits:

Hamish Skene (Year 5), Christian Valentincic (Year 5), Brian Vien (Year 6), Jake Martin (Year 6), Harry Boyd-Turner (Year 7), Nathan Sewart (Year 7), Alan Banh (Year 8), Kevin Phan (Year 10), Donald Doan (Year 11), Declan Fitch-Woolford (Year 11) and Benjamin Semmler (Year 11)
