RHSport Interschool E-Challenge
RHSport facilitated our first virtual sporting competition for all students during remote learning. The competition ran for the month of May, with competitors participating in a range of skill challenges and uploading their results to the national database. In the closing stages of the competition, we were right in the hunt for first place, but finished in the respectable third place position with 85,552 points. This was a great effort in a national competition and a result that our school should be very proud of, thanks goes to each and every student who participated.
Virtual Cross Country
SSV is excited to launch the Virtual Cross Country, where students compete in their distance run in their own space and time. To get involved, simply measure out 3km (or 5km for open age students) using a distance app or GPS and then time your run! Upload your time to this form here to have your name, school, age group & performance (distance & time) displayed on the Virtual Cross Country Standings on the SSV website.
More information can be found at this website: https://www.ssv.vic.edu.au/Pages/VirtualCrossCountry.aspx - good luck!
SSV Sport Update
Term Two is usually one of the busiest months on the school sporting calendar. However, unfortunately all school sport remains postponed at this point in time due to the COVID-19 restrictions. We are hopeful that some SSV events will be facilitated later in the year, but there is currently no certainty surrounding this. Unfortunately, as previously announced, all Team Vic and all Senior (Year 11 & 12) Sport has been cancelled for 2020. There have been further cancellations this week, with the SSV announcing that Region & State Championships for Cross Country, AFL, Badminton, Hockey, Netball & Soccer and the State Championships for Swimming have all been cancelled.
This is obviously very disappointing for us all, but especially so for our Year 12 students, I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused everyone. However, we are trying to make the best of the situation by promoting the virtual sporting competitions, and we performed so well in the recent RHSport Interschool E-Challenge! I will continue to post updates on the status of Interschool Sport to Compass, but for the most up to date
