Student Leadership

Student Representative Council (SRC)

As students prioritised their studies whilst learning from home, the SRC experienced an understandably brief hiatus over the term. However, upon our return to school, the enthusiasm and excitement in reinvigorating the council was palpable! All SRC representatives participated in the Term 2 Training Day run by Co-Presidents Nina Boyce and Belle White. Two core project teams were established to address improvements in school facilities and explore the potential for a student-run radio station. Representatives have been busy surveying the student body for input, to ensure that all projects are in-step with the wants and needs of the greater student body.

In addition to all of this, we are excited to announce that last year’s mural project will be concluded over the term break, as the breezeway underpass will be painted whilst students and staff enjoy their holidays. Keep an eye out for the beautiful new feature mural when you return next term!

House Update

Despite Covid-19 restrictions, we’ve done our best to ensure that house spirit has maintained a presence, even at home. In week 6 of Term 2 we celebrated House Colours Week, during which students were encouraged to wear their house colours to their homeroom meetings. While it was a close competition, Yellow House emerged the victors and were rewarded with lollies in class upon their return to school – congratulations again to all members of Yellow House! In addition to house colour fun, the ever-popular Library competitions thrived during the remote learning period, with many students relishing the chance to stay home and curl up with a good book! For each book read and reviewed, students are awarded house points. The traditional Word of the Day game continued from home as well, as students sent their guesses to our lovely library staff who kept a thorough record of the scores! Congratulations to Blue House who is currently enjoying sitting on the top rung of the Library comps ladder!
