Picnic

What a lovely day we had for the school picnic on Sunday 23 February at Booran Reserve! Delightful weather, company, new friends and food.

The Glen Eira College Parents Association are a group of parents and carers who support the school community with events, news, friendships and a little fundraising - All GEC parents and guardians welcome. Our meetings are friendly and informal, and your level of involvement is up to you. If you are interested in being involved, want to come to any of our meetings or are not already receiving our emails, please send an email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au. Volunteers (welcome even in a small way). The easiest way to be involved with GECPA is to come to our events, but we especially appreciate those who can volunteer a bit of time.  We know not everyone is able to make a regular commitment, but we also rely on people who turn up just once or more during the year to help out a little. And we also need people to join our committee.

Attention 2020 Year 7 parents/carers

Each year GECPA puts together a list that is completely separate to any list the GEC office has.  The idea behind this list is that it will supply Year 7 parents with contact information for parents of their child’s friends.   This list was emailed to all Year 7 parents mid February by the office.  If you did not get the list – please contact GEC office – as they don’t have your correct information.  If you got a copy of it but were not on the list and want to be part of it - you must complete the survey https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PX6MSTM .  GECPA is unable to publish your information without permission to do so.  Please do this before the 20th March 2020 so we can follow up and get your information correlated into the next version of the list, which will be released early in Term 2.

GECPA Meetings

The next meeting will be Thursday 5 March at 7pm, upstairs at Grill’d in Koornang Road Carnegie. Future meetings will alternate between weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. Details if you send an email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au.

Call for trivia night team

GECPA is planning a trivia night in late winter with a committee working to put on a fun night and some fundraising for the school, like previous trivia nights.  We need a few more volunteers to assist planning the night. Please email GECPA if you can help gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au

Jenny Sanchez in Glen Eira Council International Women’s Day photo exhibition

Jenny was nominated by a former student for her achievements, passion and contributions to the Glen Eira community.

“Jenny Sanchez in the Wellbeing Leader at Glen Eira College. I like remembering her from school because she was always out and about in the school community and at events like the Relay for Life and school sports. She knows everyone and they can find her if they need help. She is no nonsense, sporty and really funny at assemblies.  I liked how she made a little time in class for relaxation.”
