Arts Festival 2026

Last Thursday evening, Beaumaris Secondary College proudly hosted its first Arts Festival, bringing together students, families, staff and community members from Beaumaris Secondary College, Beaumaris Primary School, Beaumaris North Primary School and Black Rock Primary School.

The festival theme, ‘It Takes a Community to Raise a Child’, was beautifully reflected throughout the evening as our school communities came together to celebrate creativity, connection and the incredible talents of our young people.

Visitors were treated to an impressive exhibition of visual artworks, ceramics and collaborative installations, alongside live performances and creative displays that showcased the diverse talents of students across all four schools. Particular highlights included the collaborative Ceramic Village installation, which symbolised the strength, individuality and interconnectedness of our community, and the striking Portrait Totem displays. Created by students across the participating schools, the Portrait Totems celebrated identity, belonging and connection, and quickly became a favourite space for many visitors and families throughout the evening.

The event attracted a wonderful turnout, with hundreds of members of our wider Beaumaris and Black Rock community attending throughout the evening. It was heartening to see students proudly sharing their work with family and friends, primary and secondary students connecting through creativity, and community members engaging so enthusiastically with the exhibition.

The success of the festival was made possible through the vision, dedication and hard work of many staff, students and volunteers across all participating schools. Their commitment created a truly special event that celebrated not only the arts, but also the power of community partnerships and collaboration.

The positive feedback received throughout the evening highlighted the value of creating opportunities for our community to come together, celebrate learning and recognise the achievements of our young people.
