Year 6 Leadership

STEAM
Hello everyone, we are the STEAM team, and we’d like to tell you about what's happening in STEAM this term.
On Wednesdays at lunch time, we have been running a STEAM club, and a lego masters competition with different categories, such as, making the tallest tower that can survive an earthquake by shaking the table.
Next week, we have STEAM fest on Friday, where the whole school has 3 hours dedicated to STEAM! It will be a very fun day full of STEAM activities. Some activities might include: Marshmallow and Spaghetti towers, DIY play doh, and lots more! We can’t wait!

Sports
Hello, we are the Sports Team!
This term, the year 6 students have been participating in Winter Sports. Half of us played football and the other half played netball. We played five matches against other schools. The football team won two matches and lost three, while the netball team won four matches and drew one.
Last Thursday, we participated in the Netball Lightning Premiership, with both a girls' team and a boys' team competing. The girls finished 3rd overall and the boys finished 4th overall. Last Friday, we also competed in the Football Lightning Premiership. We had one large team and played against four other schools, finishing 4th out of 8 teams.
Now we'd like to share the St Columba's Kids points for Terms 1 and 2.
3rd Place: Red House – 609 points
2nd Place: Blue House – 655 points
1st Place: Yellow House – 887 points
To earn points for your house during St Columba's Kids, remember to cheer on your teammates, participate positively, and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
Thank you to everyone for participating in St Columba's Kids during Semester 1. We hope you are all excited for more fun and friendly competition in Term 3!
