A simple need. A real impact. Support our students this tax time.
This year, we’re raising funds to replace old and worn water bubblers across our school. It’s a simple but essential upgrade to ensure students have access to drinking water, reduce the spread of illness and minimise water waste.
While we have successfully secured some initial funds for this project, we still need to raise approximately $15,000 to complete the purchase and installation of new drinking fountains and water bottle refill centres across the school.
We know many families are feeling the cost of living pressures, so there is no expectation, just an invitation.
If you’re able to give this tax time, every contribution will make a real difference.
All donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

Attendance- Every Day Counts!
Fostering consistent attendance is a shared responsibility and it starts with being on time. Every classroom creates a beautiful learning environment that begins with our Sweet Spot routine and flows directly into the Class Morning Meeting, followed by literacy. When children arrive after the bell, they miss this crucial start to their day.
Reminder
Gate opens: 8:30am
School day begins at 8:45am
Let’s work together to make every morning count!
Board Games
As the cooler winter months approach, we are creating a cosy indoor space where children can come together to play board games, learn new skills, build friendships, and enjoy some quiet time away from the busy playground.
We are looking for any board games that are no longer being used at home and would be willing to be donated to our collection. Games suitable for primary school-aged children would be greatly appreciated.
Sometimes children simply need a break from the playground, and this space will provide a calm and welcoming environment where they can relax, connect with others, and enjoy a friendly game.
If you have any board games you would like to donate, please send them in with your child or drop them off at the office.
Thank you for your support and generosity.

Winter Lantern Festival
Our Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 families are warmly invited to join us for the magical Winter Lantern Festival on the evening before the Winter Solstice.
This much-loved community event brings together families for a beautiful evening of light, wonder and connection. Children will take part in a lantern procession before families gather to enjoy a picnic dinner and a spectacular fire twirler performance.
📅 Friday 19 June🕓
4:45pm–7:00pm
(4:45pm arrival, 5:00pm story, 5:15pm lantern procession begins)
📍 St Columba’s Primary School
💲 $10 per St Columba’s child
Families are asked to bring:
• A picnic dinner (strictly nut free)
• Picnic blanket/chairs
• Warm jackets and blankets
Pizza will also be available to pre-order and enjoy on the night.
As this is a parent-led event, children remain the responsibility of their parent/carer throughout the evening. To help preserve the magic of the lantern walk, families are kindly asked not to use torches during the procession.
We are incredibly grateful to Miss Bec, who has been busy creating the lanterns with the children during Art lessons. Lanterns will be ready and waiting with candles on arrival. Families are encouraged to bring a lighter, as candles may need relighting throughout the evening.
Please note this is a strictly nut free event due to child allergies.

We were so impressed by the wonderful turnout at last year’s festival and the beautiful sense of community it created. We look forward to once again gathering together to celebrate this special winter tradition.
