St Columba’s Running Club

Kickstart your child’s Friday with Running Club – a fun, parent-led initiative that builds fitness, running ability and confidence!

When & Where?📍

Fridays, 7:40 AM – drop off at the school playground.

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ We run along Normanby Rd to Beach Rd, cross to Elwood Beach, then up to Point Ormond and back. Occasionally, we adjust the route.

⏳ We leave 7:50 AM sharp – no latecomers unless a parent helper is still at school.

🚨 Cancellations (e.g., bad weather) will be posted by 7:15 AM – join the Running Club WhatsApp group to stay updated.

Who Can Join?

✔️ Kids who are keen to run and improve their fitness. Children are encouraged to jog or run, not walk.

✔️ Prep students must run with a parent present. There are not enough parent helpers to stay behind to help an individual child.

❌ Not suitable for children who are unwell, injured, or uninterested.

⚕️ If your child has asthma or other conditions, they must carry their medication and be able to manage it.

Cost?💰

$10 per child per term – includes a healthy post-run snack and an end-of-year award.

Parent Helpers Needed!

No running experience required! You can help by:

✅ Manning traffic crossings

✅ Cheering kids on

✅ Prepping snacks.

We need at least 6 parents each week. Even occasional help is welcome!

Children will be supervised according to the rules and regulations stated by the VCEA. Running Club will be run with a ratio of 1 adult for every 10 children.
