Callistemon House

Welcome back, everyone! I hope your break was restful and that you're prepared for the exciting new term.
As a member of the SRC, I'm eager to hear your thoughts, offer you support and work with you to improve the school. We're always available to listen and speak for you and we have some amazing things planned. Together, let's make this year one to remember!
Every year, ANZAC Day serves as an important symbol of the courage, kindness and spirit of those who served. It was incredibly motivating to hear stories told during the assembly; it made us feel more connected to the actual people who made the history. Seeing the flowers on the table was one of the most significant moments. It was a straightforward but significant remembrance that expressed our appreciation and respect. It served as a reminder that the ANZAC's legacy remains not only in the past but also in the way we honour and remember them today.
At Dandenong High School, supporting charity is really important, and the SRC plays a big role in that. We help organise fundraisers, donation drives, and awareness events to support those in need. For Callistemon House, our chosen charity is Life Without Barriers, which works to support vulnerable people across Australia, including children, people with disability, and those experiencing homelessness.
Athletics Day is just around the corner, and we’re encouraging everyone to get involved! It doesn’t matter if you’re super sporty or just want to try something new, there’s an event for everyone. From sprints and relays to long jump and shot put, it’s a great chance to have fun, represent your House, and show your school spirit. Signing up is easy, and it’s a great way to be part of a fun and exciting day with your friends. So get your name down, give it a go, and help make this year’s Athletics Day the best one yet!
