LRC News

At the end of last term, we held a very successful Poetry Reading event. Students were encouraged to write their own poem and read it aloud. Some of the staff participated and even dressed up in entertaining costumes for us. It was such a positive event that we ran another the following week to allow all poets to read. It was very inspiring to hear the creativity of our staff and students.
During Term 2 in library lessons, we are focusing on graphic novels and their different features. We are looking forward to a visit from Kenny Chan, a local Manga artist. Students who sign up can be part of a drawing workshop to learn how to draw Manga characters.
Our lunch time clubs continue this term, you can sign up to be a part of: Board games, Lego building & a new club run by a year 7 student, Beginner Crochet. If you are looking for something to do at lunch times, then the LRC is the place to be!
Junior students are being encouraged to get involved in a new reading challenge. To complete the challenge, you need to read 9 new books from different genres, such as: humour, fantasy, true stories, mystery and crime etc. Show your English teacher or Miss Sharon that you have read those books and you will be eligible to win a $5 canteen voucher. The class with the most successful participants will receive a class prize.
