With our current Area of Study for Unit 3 being about Data and Statistics and our first SAC for Unit 3 being formed around this AOS, we researched ways to connect students with their learning in class to every day life. The excursion to Zone bowling was not only an opportunity to collect data for their upcoming SAC and give contextual understanding to their investigation but also allowed students to connect with their peers and teachers early on in the year. Students were highly engaged through the excursion and we hope to continue to be able to bring this to future cohorts in Foundation Maths!
On a side note- well done to Aidin M for breaking the record on one of the arcade games!
All Foundation Maths classes in Year 12 went to Zone Bowling in Clayton for an excursion to collect data that we will use to conduct a data investigation. This data investigation will be assessed through out first SAC for Unit 3. We played 2 games of bowling with our classmates. The excursion was engaging and enjoyable, and we would all like to thank Mrs Fernando and Ms Aitkin for making it happen!'
