From the Year Prep Classroom
Wow, we are almost there! We know everyone is looking forward to a well-earned break. We have noticed a few tired faces and the odd sniffle, but we are hoping we can all make it through these final few days feeling positive and proud.
What a fabulous term it has been! We have seen incredible growth in our students as they continue to build their independence and resilience, along with all the wonderful learning along the way.
After 80 days of school, our prep students now know 18 letters of the alphabet and are making fantastic progress in their reading and writing and we couldn’t be prouder!
In Maths, students have developed a strong understanding of:
- Friends of 10
- 2D shapes
- Teen numbers
- Writing numbers correctly from 1–20 and beyond
They have all been giving things a “red hot go,” which is exactly what we love to see!
Semester Reflections
At the end of term, your child will bring home their special learning journal. This is a beautiful reflection of their semester and includes:
- Artwork
- Photos of special events
- Academic and religious learning
We encourage you to take time to sit with your child and celebrate their achievements and highlights. Please return the journal at the beginning of Term 3 so we can continue adding to it throughout Semester 2.
You will also receive your child’s Semester Report, accessible through PAM. We ask that you please read the covering letter carefully before reviewing the report, as it explains expectations for this time of year, especially for our Prep students.
If you have any questions or concerns, we will be holding Parent-Teacher Interviews early in Term 3, where we can discuss your child’s progress together.
Community Connections
A big thank you to Jess (Max and Ollie’s mum), along with her colleagues Alex and Lachie, for visiting us last week with two ambulances. The students loved learning about the role of paramedics in our community and of course, the highlight was hearing the siren!
This week, we are excited to welcome Dave, who is also Max and Ollie’s dad who will talk to us about being a police officer and how he helps keep our community safe.
Upcoming Events & Reminders
- Week 9 – Thurs 18th June: Local excursion to the library, post office, ANZAC memorial, and nearby community shops
- Week 10 - Thurs 25th June: PJ Day – students can come dressed in pyjamas and are encouraged to bring a small donation for our fundraiser
Last Day of Term:
- Final assembly @1.30pm families are welcome to attend
- Farewell to Mrs Heather Keenan, who is retiring after 27 years of dedicated service you are welcome to attend
- Early dismissal 2.15pm
Looking Ahead to Term 3
We have some exciting events coming up:
- 100 Days of Learning – start thinking about creative outfits!
- Grandparents Day – 30th July – let them know it’s one not to be missed!
- Father’s Day celebrations

We look forward to seeing everyone back next term, ready and raring to go! Term 3 is always a special time, as we really see our students take off in their learning.
