Book Week!

Get excited, MGC! Today marks the beginning of Book Week 2026!

This year's CBCA theme is: Symphony of Stories.

We have a fun week planned, including author talks, trivia and, of course, the school dress-up day. Start thinking about which of your favourite book characters you want to be for a day.

Monday: We have trivia in the library at lunchtime, with prizes.

Tuesday: Author Danielle Binks will share her experience with Year 9 and Year 10 students. There will also be a lunchtime movie in the library.

Thursday: It is the whole-school assembly and dress-up day, with a gold coin donation for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. There will be lots of prizes for costumes, both during the assembly and on the library deck at lunchtime. We will also announce the winners of the Year 7 book cover art competition.

Friday: Alice Pung will speak with Year 7 and Year 8 students. There will also be a singer-songwriter concert and the announcement of the writing competition winners in the library at lunchtime.

It is going to be a fantastic week.
