Year 10 Careers Expo

Melbourne Convention Centre, 17 August 2023.

Attending the Careers Expo trip at Melbourne Convention Centre was an eye opening and informative experience for 150 of our Year 10 Students. It provided valuable insights into the various career paths, higher education options and the professional world that awaits after they complete their studies. 

Students experienced -

* Exposure to Diverse Careers – The expo showcased an impressive array of industries and professions ranging from, Trades, Health and Beauty, Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Technology (STEAM), Business and Emergency Services – Federal Police and Police, Army and Navy.

* Interactions with Professionals – Students were able to talk to professionals from different fields who discussed their personal journeys, daily responsibilities and the skills required for success in their respective careers.

* Higher Education Options – Universities and TAFES provided information about their programs and courses which created an understanding of the educational pathways required to follow specific courses.

* Career Insights – Interactive activities and simulations helped students gain hands-on experience. They were also able to watch assessments involving current students in the various fields.

Overall, the Careers Expo trip was an invaluable experience that broadened student horizons about the professional world and gave some clarity on the choices they are making.
