Art Anthology 2023, Community Stories

 

The submission date has been extended for the Hume Young People’s Stories of Community: An Art Anthology 2023. Submissions will now close 30th September 2023. 

 

 Students and young people are invited to submit a drawing/ painting, poem, short story, comic, or photograph that reflects their experiences, stories, ideas, and contributions relating to ‘Community’

 

Submissions can be made by young people aged 6 - 24 years who live, study or work in Hume. Submissions can be made under three age categories:

  • Prep to Grade 6 (Ages 6-11)
  • Year 7-12 (Ages 12-18)
  • 19 to 24 years.

Submissions must include:

  • Name of young person
  • Age 
  • School/TAFE/University/ Service Provider
  • Title of “art” work 
  • Description of connecting with the theme of Community 

Work can be submitted in Word, PDF or JPG format online via the Hume City Council website at: 

https://www.hume.vic.gov.au/Residents/People-Services/Youth/Young-Peoples-Stories.

If a young person is under 18 years of age, parental consent will also be required. 

 

Submissions will be judged by a panel consisting of a young person who contributed to last year’s anthology, Council staff and a Hume Councillor. Submissions will be considered for the printed 2023 anthology titled ‘Young People’s Stories of Community. 

 

The 2023 Hume Youth Anthology will be unveiled to the public at an end of year event, where all anthology participants will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement and presented with a copy of the printed anthology. 

 

Awards will be presented under the following categories:

  • Best creative piece - 5–11-year-olds
  • Best creative piece - 12 – 18-year-olds
  • Best creative piece - 19 – 24 years olds
  • Community favourite (all ages)
  • Mayor Award
  • CEO Award
  • Manager Award
