Snow Camp

Snow Camp was probably the best camp ever, it was so fun and we got to make so many new connections and friends with people we normally don’t interact with. We made so many memories and learnt a new skill. We spent the days skiing and snowboarding, and the evenings playing endless rounds of imposter and charades. We were all severely sleep deprived at the end but it was so worth it!

From the moment we stepped off the bus and into the snow, to the last minute of the bus ride back, we had so much fun and made every second of it worth it. For people like me learning how to snowboard for the first time, we had so much resilience on the first day when we were eating snow the whole time, and all the amazing teachers, especially Ms Jones motivated us so much! The teachers showed off their professional skiing and snowboarding skills and had so much patience when we couldn’t go 50 metres without falling. After the first day, we were all pros at skiing and snowboarding and had so much fun flying down the runs and learning tricks.

We’re all so thankful for teachers that came with us, Mrs Guastella, Ms Jones, Mr Moden, Mr Wright, Mr Mulcahy, and for supporting and having fun with us during the trip!

Learning to snowboard was a very steep learning curve and after the first day many of us were definitely rethinking our decision to snowboard over skiing. But it took a lot of resilience and help from the instructors and teachers and soon enough many of us were going down intermediate runs without falling! Off the slopes, we made so many new friends, bonding with people across other year levels.

From a huge futsal game to many very competitive games of table tennis and mario kart, the evenings were always full of laughter and lots of new inside jokes. The last day was bittersweet and the beautiful sunrise we woke up to made it so much harder to have to leave. After snowing for 3 days straight, the clear skies were the best way to finish up our trip. I’m sure none of us will forget all the memories we made together!

Despite the cold, constantly falling, tumbling down the ski lifts, and severely sore muscles, we had so much fun and made Snow Camp unforgettable!

Snow camp was one of the best camps I've ever been on. It was so fun how we got to experience so many different things, meet so many new people and make precious memories.  The camp went for four days and three nights, and we got to do so many thrilling activities such as skiing/snowboarding, AirZone trampoline and just playing around in the snow.

My favourite part of the camp was the skiing, which we did for three days. We strapped on our skis in the early morning and were out on the mountain for hours until late afternoon, either in a lesson or in free ski groups. It was so fun to get out of my comfort zone, try so many new ski runs and to have the freedom to do our own thing but also getting professional instruction to learn new skills and stay safe. The weather was so beautiful, warm on the last day and foggy and snowy for the first few days, which was perfect for skiing and making snowballs.

Snow camp was such an unforgettable experience and I'm so glad I got to go. Everything was so well organised, there was never a boring minute, and everyone was so nice and positive. I'm so grateful for everyone who organised it and hope that as many people as possible can also experience snow camp!
